Without knowing your specific history or examining you its hard to guess at what might be causing your pain. Obviously you may have injured yourself during a workout. If you haven't had any previous trauma or problems with your back previously, it would be unusual for someone your age to have this pain ongoing. You should contact your doctor if there is not a noticeable reduction in pain and inflammation after 72 hours of self-care. It's always best to error on the side of caution. A thorough medical history and physical exam can usually identify any dangerous conditions or family history that may be associated with the pain. At least this way your not guessing, Any recommendations that come from that will be specifically suited to your situation and needs, and rule out anything more complicated hopefully! As far as weights stunting your growth, your bones and growth plates will still continue to grow maybe until your early twenties. I wouldn't say you may stunt your growth, but you don't want to cause damage to your joints from improper technique or excessively strenuous exercise. It is best to consult with your doctor and a qualified trainer to make sure your workouts are best suited to your health and your training objectives. Good luck.
