can female alexandrine parrots get the black band around there neck as well ?
hey i have 2 alexandrine parrots 1 male 1 female i noticed that the female just got a black band around her neck like the male she never use to have it,i wondered if the females can get this? and what it means?
Is the ring that is developing light gray or black? We have a female Alexandrine and she has a faint grey ring. Is there also the rosy color on the nape? If so... sounds like two males. A male Alexandrine's adult colors can change as late as 3 years of age... sometimes people think that after the first adult molt... if there is no ring, then it is female, but this is not always the case. Looks like you had a young male who has now matured and developed his full colors.
