Will running UP HILL build lower and upper body muscle?
I run up hill about once or twice a week and i do 3 sets of 10, which is 30 total. I can't tell you how steep the hill is because i'm not into geography but from my point of view, it is a pretty steep hill.
So will running up hill build upper body muscle? like your back, abs, chest, ect, and will it make your muscles more defined?
Thanks.
No, muscle is created when it exerts force against resistance and the upper body wouldn't be doing that running up a hill. The lower body would be doing some as it is working against gravity to push the body up the incline. Finally, to determine the how steep the hill is, that is its incline, go to mapmyrun.com where you will be able to get to map of the hill and if you track your run it will give you the incline.
