how do you remove wax pencils from leather, rubber, or paper?
I bought some items at a garage sale that had used a wax pencil. One item had fake leather, some shoes, and a box made of paper. Any ideas on getting it off?
Weiman's Wax Away will remove it from the fake leather and shoes but will leave an oily residue on the box. The way to remove it off of the box is to take a piece of brown paper bag, place it over the wax, set the iron to low and no steam and lightly iron the brown paper bag to transfer the wax to the paper. I usually place another rag, like cotton, over the brown bag so that I don't accidentally transfer the wax to the sole plate of the iron. You can find Weiman's at big discounters and craft stores in the candle aisle. It is cheaper if you use the Sunday paper 40% off coupon in Michael's flyer and it is less than 5 bucks with it for a bottle that will last you years (it removes candle wax and soot, too.)
