






Code of Ethics
As a Life Coach:
1. I hold myself accountable to the highest level of integrity, honoring Jesus Christ in all
my associations with individuals being coached.
2. I will conduct myself in a manner that reflects positively upon the coaching 
profession and I will refrain from engaging in conduct or making statements that may
negatively impact the public's understanding or acceptance of coaching as a
profession.
3. I will not knowingly make any public statements that are untrue or misleading, or
make false claims in any written documents relating to the coaching profession.
4. I will construct clear agreements with individuals being coached, and will honor all
agreements made in the context of professional coaching relationships.
5. I will maintain complete confidentiality with individuals being coached, within the
confines of the law.
6. I will accurately identify my qualifications, expertise and experience as a coach.
7. I will be clear with individuals being coached about the nature of the coaching
relationship, including structure, fees, refunds, expectations and guarantees.
8. I will not intentionally mislead or make false claims about what the individual being
coached will receive from the coaching process or from me as their coach.
9. I will not give individuals being coached information or advice I know or believe to be
misleading.
10. I will never give a person's name to anyone, for any purpose, without express
permission.
11. I will give credit where credit is due for materials supplied by other sources,
respecting copyrights, trademarks and intellectual property.
12. I will represent myself honestly and clearly to individuals being coached, and coach
only within my areas of expertise.
13. I will actively pursue well being, wholeness, and continual learning in my own life.
14. I will suggest that individuals being coached seek the services of other
professionals when deemed appropriate or necessary.
15. I will refer an individual being coached to another coach if I am not within my area
of expertise or comfort, so the individual gets the best possible coaching.
16. I will honor my Christian values in my professional conduct, placing neither blame
nor blemish on the name of Christ and the coaching profession.
As a professional life coach, I acknowledge and agree to honor my ethical obligations to individuals being coached, colleagues, and to the public at large. I pledge to treat people with dignity as independent and equal human beings, and to model these standards with those whom I coach.
