Builders and rehab, please help!?
My mother moved into a garage apt that has a claw-foot tub with no shower. She is allowed to make a shower if she likes, BUT she is not permitted to remove the old hardware (spicket and hot/cold knobs) from the tub. The in lines for the water are exposed and are currently connected with flex line. The flex lines connect with the H/C knobs at 19.5 inches from the floor. The spicket and knobs are 72 inches from the ceiling. At the head of the tub where the drain and hardware are located, there is 1.5 Ft clearance with the perimeter of the bowl on the toilet (possibility of a wall). My main issue is, how do I connect a mixing valve (new age) with this old hardware and create a compression to enable a shower?
Whoever knows what they're talking (unlike obviously me) thanks in advance. Any videos that can be included, or picture/print combo instructions would help immensely.
Take some pictures of the tub and fixtures, then go talk to a plumber and get their advice; explain you want to do the work yourself AND tell them if a problem arises, they'll be the first you call.
