Computer Memory needed to save videotaped recital digital?
I recorded on a camcorder (sony or panosonic I think)... a dance recital. It is about 1.5 hours in length. I want to make DVD's of this, but the file will not record onto my laptop, because there isn't enough memory available. How big do you think the file is? outside of recording it right onto a DVD, do you think an 8 GB flash/jump drive would be able to hold it? or is that way too small? Yes I am completely computer illiterate
If you are using Mini DV, when copying to a computer it is about 3 GIGABYTES for 9 minutes of video.
So an 8 gig flash/jump drive is not enough. You would need to buy a pretty big external usb drive, but they are pretty cheap now. You can get a 250 gig external usb drive for around $100.
