arent bag gloves to small to protect your hands working the heavy bag? or should i just use a bigger oz glove?

which gloves are better? specific size please

I use 16 oz gloves which is recommended for very heavy bags. I have a "heavy bag" at home that isn't very heavy so I just use the small gloves.
