
What is a more effective workout, sports or going to a gym?
im trying to work out to stay in shape during my break. I play soccer, basketball, baseball almost at least 2 times a week. Do you think going to the gym on equivalent time more effective than running around the field?
No, is not the same. If you just want to stay in shape keep doing what you are doing, sports are a great conditioner for the entire body, and it will keep you in balance with the exact muscle movements you need to maintain and improve on.
The Gym can provide you with the same kind of workout if you do high reps in all your exercises.
High reps will encourage your fast moving muscles.
If you do heavy weights instead, you will create slow strong muscles which are good for strength, so you could do a combination of both for an all around workout.
So the Gym could be useful to escape the routine and not get bored of your favorite sport and as well it could be a nice way of shocking your body for a stronger and muscular body.
