What is your auto insurance responsibility to a thief's blood in your car?
My car was broken into and the insurance company wants me to drive the car while the thief's blood is still in it. The areas are being replaced - inner door, glove compartment hood, leather seat - The parts take 3 weeks to get in and they wont pay for my rental car (I DO have rental insurance with them!) while the car is just sitting there waiting for the parts to come in.
Is this right?
It depends on the policy. That blood is a bio hazard and you should not drive it till it has been removed. Remind them that the health department would not recommend you be exposed and that this technically makes the car undriveable.
