Muay Thai practitioners out there.... Help me out! I keep on gassing out!?

I've been training in muay thai for about 2 weeks now and I still gas-out in the middle of the thai pad/focus mitt exercises..... when I start the kicking/knee combos, my lungs give out.... Any advice on how to improve my conditioning? man, I don't even smoke... is this normal even after 2 weeks?

We usually have a 4-8 week intro period for new people starting. It usually takes 3-4 months before they can keep up with relative ease in the beginner class. Some even longer, and some shorter. Just keep going and doing everything you can in class. YOU WILL IMPROVE!!

If you are going to class at least 2-3 times per week, you are doing plenty right now. On days that you do not go to class, I suggest just going for a walk. Start walking, and when you just start feeling a little tired, turn around and re-trace your steps. You will be fairly tired once you get back, but it doesn't deplete you like running or MA classes.
