Mma grappling gloves enough protection as boxing gloves?
I have just started doing some fitness training In my garage
I have just got a boxing bag and my nuckles and wrist are quite weak as i have never boxed before Will this improve in time?
One more thing I am getting abit anoyed with having to take my gloves off all the time to use a skipping rope and do push ups. If I get some decent padded mma grappling gloves will they protect my nuckles very well. Thanks
Nah don't listen to that first person.
If you are going to train on a punching bag or speed bag (any bag at that), always wear hand wraps. They can range from 4-8$ but you don't need anything fancy just a nice pair of ordinary hand wraps.
If you want to wear gloves make sure you get mma bag gloves or boxing bag gloves, specifically designed for bag usage. Whichever you prefer or whatever your goals are.
A tip I can give you is train one area at a time. For example, start with jumping rope, then do pushups, then train on the bag. Just an order so you don't have to take off and put on gloves all the time. Never use bag gloves for anything else besides the punching bags. Same with sparring gloves, only use them for sparring. Don't do any pushups or jump rope with them on, because your goal with that is to do the pushup with good form, and to break a sweat jumping rope.
