Is it queer or a bit gay (no offense intended) for a guy to use resistance bands for exercise?
I have been thinking about getting resistance bands for exercise at university, they seem relatively cheap, versatile, portable and useful form of exercise (along with doing other forms of exercise such as running, skipping, free weights etc).
Its just that everytime i ask someone i get strange look, i asked my brother, a store guy and a friend. Also 9/10 boxes i have seen have women using them. Just don't want to be laughed at while im at uni.
Chris, I'm the father of two boys ages 21 & 23. I can remember being your age and worrying about what everyone else might think about this or that. Like I tell my sons, don't worry about it. All your peers who seem to have it so together actually have all kinds of issues & problems too. I'm reminded of that saying "every family is dysfunctional in it's own way."
As regards exercise I'm reminded of the saying "the *best* exercise is the one that you will actually do." I personally think that a combination of weight-training and low-impact aerobic is best for most people who're just interested in basic-fitness and not training for a particular sport. But if exercise-bands is what you want to do then by all means, as the Nike commercials say, "just do it."
