Value Line's Ratings and Premium Discount Brokers?
What are your opinions on Value Line's timeliness ratings? Also, do you know of a premium discount broker that offers access to S&P, Morningstar, and VL (all three)? I think Fidelity gives access to S&P and MS, but I am not sure about VL. I added this question to my previous one as an additional detail, but clicked "put question up for vote" by mistake immediately afterwards, so if the people who answered my original question can answer this one as well, it would be great. Thanks.
Our library has Value Line and I at one time faithfully read it. I even got some good ideas from it, but I was somewhat skeptical of their timeliness ratings in general. Fidelity does not have access to Value Line and only very limited access to Morningstar.
They do however provide access to many other services.
You may not be aware of this. There is an index fund indexed to Value Line Timeliness ratings. PIV. Its return however has been nothing to write home to mom about. Only 0.04% over the last year. Sort of makes one wonder. The more mundane index funds blew that one away with 10% to 13% returns. But to be fair, PIV has been around only for about a year. It may take a little while to get its bearing.
