Left shoulder pops when I do the chest press? Is this normal?
When I do the chest press, my left shoulder pops when I extend my arms. I feel no pain. It started when I increased the weight. So am I doing too much weight? I noticed it doesn't happen as much when I slow down the speed and when I do lower weights.
Start doing rotator cuff exercises. Bench press will grow your muscles, but your small rotator cuff muscles will stay small and eventually give out. Look up how to do external rotation, internal rotation, and those same exercises in abduction. Strengthen the four rotators and it might help. Maybe go lighter on your lifting. If the pain gets worse, get an MRI and see an orthopedic doctor.
