Are solid bike tubes better then air inflated ones? What are the pro's and con's of each?
I finally got my bike tires fixed, but my dad bought sold tubes, so we wouldn't have to deal with another flat.
What are the pros and cons of solid tubes vs. air inflated ones?
I just took it for a test run down the street.... It seems slower and it squeaked. Can anyone tell me why? I have to ride to practice 3.5 miles away at 5... ):

There are options that do not have that effect on the feel of riding. I am quite sure it hampers the fun of riding more than the flats!
Two options, one that works well. Get kevlar belted tires. But the best option is called tire liners. They are thick plastic strip that fits between the tire and tube. It eliminates the flats caused by thorns, glass and metal slivers. It costs about the same as two tubes, will pay for itself within the season, and will last forever. I have used them for years. I have not had a road flat thre years on my road bike. Over five years on my tri bike.
Lastly, learn how to fix the tubes! I learned when I was 10 or 11 years old. The tubes are very resilient and will last for quite a long time! It takes just a few minutes to repair.... get it done!
