What size sparring gloves for boxing should I get?

Hi, I've been boxing for about a year now and thought that it was about time that I get my own set of gloves. I've heard that with sparring gloves, that 16oz is recommended but I'm really small for my age (19 years old, only 150cm) and was wondering if that has any effect on the size of sparring gloves.

There is nothing wrong with using bigger gloves to spar with. It will help condition your arms and increase your speed and stamina. I've trained with guys that used as high as 20 oz gloves to spar with.
