
How do I start strength training?
I've been doing cardio and have lost 30 lbs and I think I've hit a plateau. I read that adding strength training into your work out will help bypass the plateau but i'm clueless on how to even start. I really dont want to build a ton of muscle. Any tips would help. Thanks!
absolutely... your on the right track here.. get into some weight training.. cardio will only take u so far.. it will not give u muscle strength or overall body tone compared to weight training..
its very simple to start.., you have to train each muscle once or twice a week... you can do full body workouts 3 times a week.. or u can work 2 muscles a workout... you have to train all muscles.. chest, shoulders, back, legs, triceps, biceps.. you will need 3 - 4 different exercises per muscle... 4 sets each exercise.... and aim for 10 - 12 reps per each set..
the session should last 40 - 60 mins..
the more muscle u develop the faster your metabolism will get....
