
Weighted vest a good idea for training?
I study martial arts, and I've been thinking about improving my training with a weighted vest. Can anyone let me know if this is a good idea or not?
Even if it's not, I'd still like to use one for exercise. I'm a 17 year old male who weighs 160 lbs. If I were to buy a weighted vest, what weight should I start out with?
I think they're great to improve your performance. My brother uses it to run. He can now run 1.5 miles in 9 minutes. It helps you to become explosive as well. I would say a 20 lb vest is sufficient, unless you're training to become a fireman in which case you should get a 70 pounder
